How the ScootaTrailer works
The trailer bed sits just 9 inches off the ground, so the ramp angle is gentle enough for your scooter or power chair to climb on its own power — forward or backward, whichever you prefer — while you walk beside it. Four rope-pull tie-downs with ten anchor points secure the chair for travel, and the rubber-coated ramp and floor keep wheels from slipping in Midwest weather. With the optional aluminum top, your equipment rides fully protected from rain, snow and road salt with 52 inches of interior clearance.
Do I need a big vehicle to tow it?
No — this is the ScootaTrailer’s best trick. It places only about 35–75 lbs of tongue weight on your hitch, so it can be pulled behind most compact and even sub-compact cars with a properly installed Class 1 trailer hitch, and it’s rated safe at highway speeds. What’s included and what’s optional
Every ScootaTrailer comes standard with baked-on powder coat enamel paint, a spare tire and mount, spray-rubber-coated assisted load ramp and floor, four rope-pull tie-downs with ten anchor locations, a front swivel jack with caster wheel, LED tail and license lighting on a flat four-pin connector, and brushed aluminum fenders. Two upgrades are worth considering in our climate: the aluminum top (adds full weather protection and 52 inches of interior clearance) and the full spray-in rubber bed liner.
