Spider Deviled Eggs - From Our Family to Yours

Halloween is almost here, so we have a special themed recipe for you. The black food coloring makes the outside of the egg look like a spider web, and the green olives give the look of eyes from the top. Enjoy!


12 drops of black food coloring
12 hard-boiled eggs
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tsp habanero Tabasco sauce
1 Tbsp dijon mustard
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
12 green olives

Add 12 drops of black food coloring to a bowl of water. Make sure there is enough water in the bowl to cover the eggs. Using the back of a spoon, crack the shells of the hard-boiled eggs. Do not peel. Place the eggs with the cracked shell on into the water with the black food coloring. Make sure the eggs are fully submerged. Refrigerate overnight. Remove from the water. Peel the eggs and place them on a paper towel. Cut the eggs in half and remove the yolk. Place the yolks into a mixing bowl. Add mayonnaise, Tabasco, dijon mustard, salt, and pepper to the yolks. Mix well. Add the mixture to a zip-top bag and remove as much air from the bag as you can. Cut a small hole in the corner of the bag. Pipe the mixture into the egg halves. Top with green olives.
